Regulatory Affairs Specialist (Food Supplements)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist with expertise in food supplements to join our dynamic team. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with EU regulations and local requirements, ensuring that our products meet all safety, quality, and legal standards.
This role involves managing product registration, labelling compliance, and regulatory documentation to support the marketing and distribution of our food supplements across the EU.
Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all food supplements meet EU and local regulatory requirements, including EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) guidelines on nutrition and health claims.
Regulatory translation and proofreading of food and food supplement labels
Product Registration
Manage the registration and notification process for new food supplements with the relevant authorities in EU member states.
Labelling & Claims
Review and approve product labels to ensure compliance with EU food labeling regulations on food information to consumers. Ensure all health and nutrition claims comply with EU laws.
Documentation Management
Prepare and maintain regulatory documentation, including product dossiers and regulatory submissions for food supplements.
Regulatory Strategy
Develop and implement regulatory strategies to support the launch of new food supplement products, ensuring market access and compliance.
Legislation Monitoring
Stay updated on relevant EU legislation, guidelines, and regulatory trends related to food supplements. Provide internal teams with timely updates and guidance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Legal teams to ensure regulatory compliance throughout the product development and marketing process.
Audits & Inspections
Support regulatory audits and inspections by preparing relevant documentation and acting as a key point of contact for regulatory bodies.
Requirements
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Food Science, Nutrition, Law, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in regulatory affairs, with a focus on food supplements within the EU.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of EU food law, particularly regulations surrounding food supplements
Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, particularly in managing product labels and documentation.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex regulatory issues.
Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory guidelines to practical business situations.
Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying and resolving compliance issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with food supplements in a multinational environment.
Familiarity with EFSA guidance on novel foods and health claims.
Knowledge of local regulations in various EU member states.
Ability to manage relationships with regulatory bodies and third-party certification agencies.
